1769 - George Washington brought several non-importation resolutions before the Virginia House of Burgesses. Non-importation agreements were a series of commercial restrictions adopted by American colonists to protest British revenue policies prior to the American Revolution.
1792 - The New York Stock Exchange was founded at 70 Wall Street by 24 brokers.
